Unlike Sarah Jessica Parker who keeps us on our toes about how she's going to wear sweatpants next, Garner typically sticks to an outfit formula of jeans and sneakers sans sartorial curveballs. Yesterday was no different, except Garner wore controversial jeans and unexpected sneakers. She's actually been wearing the Veja sneakers since January, and if the brand looks familiar that's because Meghan Markle wore them and caused a sell-out back in 2018. Garner introduced us to the blue version, which have sold out mostly everywhere online but are just $120 at Zappos right now. While blue sneakers are surprising and not nearly as commonplace as a classic pair of white sneakers, Garner's jeans were the real contentious item in her look. Garner tends to wear skinny jeans, which are also known as the jeans Gen Z hates. But Gen Z also sees Jennifer Garner as a '90s movie style icon, specifically for her role as Jenna Rink in 13 Going on 30. Nearly all of them aspire to have the wardrobe of Rink, so this look might have them divided. But Garner clearly doesn't care, she wears what's comfortable, and if this past year has taught us anything it's that we should all just wear what we want. There's no official outfit for the end of the world, although Garner proves that skinny jeans and blue sneakers would work just fine.
