Katie Holmes is staring off 2021 like the rest of us: bundled up, coffee in hand, and holding a bag big enough to shelter all of the hand sanitizer in the entire world.

Holmes's extremely large bag feels more than appropriate for the new year. What other bag could possibly hold all of our emotional baggage and trauma from last year on top of our looming anxieties about this year? Definitely not a By Far Baby Amber bag (although we love it deeply).

In all seriousness, large bags are bound to be the biggest bag trend of the year. Literally. Daily walks now require us to carry bottles of Purell and an extra face mask plus gloves, face shields, and wipes. You know, 2020 things. The big micro-bag craze of the past couple seasons doesn't seem to stand a chance in the current climate, and Holmes's rewearing of this large, beige bag basically proves it.

Katie Holmes's exact bag is by the brand Harmin and retails for $1,195. And while we think it's a defendable investment, there is also a very similar option by Topshop that's on sale for only $33 (!!!) at Nordstrom. There's also a slouchy hobo bag version for $58. And if you're all aboard the buying-designer-bags-for-the-apocalypse train, there's plenty of oversized bags by Acne, Mulberry, Bottega Veneta, and Wandler for over $1,000 that you'll likely have forever.

So, instead of worrying about 2021, maybe we should all just take a note from Katie Homes and stash our anxieties in an oversized bag for later. That's probably better than making the same old New Year's resolutions anyway.
