It's not every day that a new style of dressing gets coined. But then again, it's not every day that you see someone gallivanting through Manhattan in an electric blue two-piece leather suit and combat boots.

Irina Shayk (who else?) made us drop our phones this weekend when we saw her daringly wear a Magda Butrym (now sold out) leather blazer and matching leather pants with Dr. Martens boots and a By Far zebra-print bag. The matchy-matchy set took us back to the '80s when colorful leather power suits from designers like Claude Montana and North Beach Leather were fashion magazine fodder, and we couldn't not make the connection to the original, iconic Berlin underground leather-daddy style that influenced it.

If the denim-on-denim looks celebs have been busting out of their closets lately can be called "Canadian tuxedos," then Shayk's somewhat-more formal leather suit is undoubtedly "Berlin black-tie." In fact, the double-denim trend has a limited shelf life since it can only protect against the growing cold to a degree. Leather, on the other hand, has a full-on season ahead of it and is the obvious choice for a warm, yet stylish, outfit combo.

Shayk's take on Berlin black-tie might not be what you'd throw on to get antibody tested, but black leather pants and a jacket might be just the thing for outdoor dining somewhere without heat lamps. And there are a million more ways to pair leather pieces, from a leather vest and wide-leg leather pants to a leather button-down tucked into a leather midi skirt. Below, shop some of our favorite leather and faux-leather pieces to get in on the Berlin black-tie look that every celebrity is guaranteed to be wearing this fall.
