Jennifer Lopez may be showing off her brand new bangs, but she's also pulling a fashion trick many of us loved back in middle school. When singer, actress, and designer (all the things!) stepped out in Los Angeles on Tuesday night alongside fiancé Alex Rodriguez, we immediately noticed her full matchy-matchy look — right down to that metallic blue eyeshadow.

While we got a glimpse at Lopez's makeup during her big hair reveal, the outing gave us a better look at her stunning satin blue outfit, which was a similar shade to her makeup. While at first glance it looked like she was wearing a jumpsuit, it's actually a LaPointe set, complete with a front-tie top and matching wide-leg pants. Either way, the coordinated move resurrected a trend we loved in the '00s.

And, as it turns out, she wasn't done yet. Despite the fact that Lopez is a known Coach ambassador, she opted to switch things up when it came to her purse, carrying a blue Valentino design to complete that monochromatic vibe. The only part of her look that was a different shade was a black face mask, aka the perfect final — and safe! — touch given the pandemic.

Overall, Lopez's outfit choice was a mix of comfort, fanciness, and a bit of a throwback — in the best way!
