Of Course Chloë Sevigny Looks Like This While Pushing a Baby Stroller
Welcome to the new Look of the Day, where we comb through every celebrity outfit from the past 24 hours and feature the single most conversation-worthy ensemble. Love it, leave it, or shop the whole thing below.
When Chloë Sevigny announced she was pregnant, the entire internet bonded over being intimidated by an unborn baby. Without even having a name, he was cooler than all of us. Now that Vanja (not Tompkins, to Twitter's disappointment) is a little over a month old, he's just days away from having a New Yorker profile written about him and how he just has it.
While showing him around the East Village, Sevigny made newfound motherhood look too cool. Realistically, was there any other option for her? We all knew this would happen. Even Vanja probably knew and he can't even talk yet.
Sevigny pushed her baby stroller while wearing a white puff sleeve babydoll dress, white ankle socks, and simple black strappy Teva-esque sandals. If it weren't for the stroller, she could have easily been walking the Simone Rocha runway; the outfit is not that far off from the look she wore at the British designer's show this past fall. Her face mask even has ruffles on it and would have definitely been incorporated into her runway look had it been designed post-pandemic.
Obviously Sevigny makes the babydoll dress trend look inimitable but it's easily the style of the year, with every designer from Tibi to Ganni to Cecilie Bahnsen making their own version. The ethereal silhouette plucks us out of the mess that is 2020 for just a second and places us in a lavender field in the south of France instead. But clearly, it also looks good on a rainy day in New York when you're hanging out with a really cool baby who already has a perfect taste in literature.
