A little over a year ago — 61 weeks to be exact — Diane Keaton wore pants. Big, blistering, circus tent-sized jeans so large they could safely harbor all of Bachelor Nation without calling the attention of any casual onlooker.

Not only did she wear the pants, but it was evidently of the utmost importance that she let as many people know that she was, in fact, wearing the pants. And so, in what can only be described as a public declaration of love, Keaton took to Instagram with a power selfie and an all-caps caption that only she (or Simon Porte Jacquemus, perhaps) could have written.

"REGARDING THESE PANTS: THIS IS SERIOUSLY TRUE. I WORE THEM ON THE PLANE. I WORE THEM IN THE HOTEL DUPONT. I WORE THEM IN THE DELAWARE ART MUSEUM. I WORE THEM ON A LONG WALK THROUGH THE WILMINGTON STREETS. I’M WEARING THEM ON THE TRAIN TO NYC. I’VE NEVER RECEIVED MORE COMPLIMENTS ON ANYTHING I’VE EVER WORN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE."

Heaps of Keaton's celebrity friends, including Gwyneth Paltrow and Tracee Ellis Ross, demanded she spill the beans on the source of the instant icons. In a few short days, via a crucial follow-up post, the jeans' origins were revealed with a crudely edited slideshow that only moms seem to know how to make and no-less enthusiastic caption.

"THESE PANTS ARE GENIUS! THEY COULDN'T BE BETTER! THEY'RE THE BOMB! SO GLAD YOU LIKE THEM! THEY'RE @maisonmargiela #notanad"

In the many weeks since the Maison Martin Margiela wide-leg jeans' official debut, Keaton has been a loyal devotee, wearing the unimaginably voluminous trousers at the same clip we've all been wearing sweats. This weekend, the star graced the world with her likeness in the jeans, plus a white long-sleeve, tan bowler, and neck scarf.

Her invaluable reminder to us about these jeans (as if we could ever forget) came at a very good time. The exact pants are currently on sale at Farfetch for several hundred dollars less. The jeans usually retail for $645, but are currently on sale at a 25 percent discount for $484. If that figure is still a bit hard to stomach, not to worry. We've rounded up a few equally massive, vaguely skater-inspired wide-leg jeans that Keaton would almost definitely nod approvingly at. Shop the lot below.
