It's a fun reason to put together cute gifts for my friends and family, wear my heart-print pajamas, and buy myself a little something (or five little somethings, in this case). Not to mention, after a very long two years, I think this Valentine's Day is an extra special reminder to be kind to yourself. I will admit it doesn't take a lot for me to treat myself. I do it pretty often — which shouldn't be too surprising, since I do shop for a living — so I consider myself an expert at knowing exactly what to buy for a pick-me-up. If you're new to treating yourself, it's important to know that there are no rules. I recently "treated myself" with a $2 bag of Jelly Belly candy and butterfly hair clips because the girls on the latest season of Too Hot to Handle were wearing them. In other words, you don't need to be practical. Whether you need a little inspo for yourself or you're thinking of spoiling your best Galentine, here are five things I'm getting myself for Valentine's Day: Skims Fits Everybody Assorted Full Briefs, 5 Pack, $60 Byredo Rose Hand Wash, $65 The North Face Cragmont Fleece Coat, $179 Gucci Vernis à Ongles Nail Polish, $30 Nécessaire The Body Oil, $35 Skims Fits Everybody Assorted Full Briefs Courtesy One of my favorite things to treat myself with is Skims intimates. I'm a huge fan of the cotton collection and own several of the boxers, briefs, tank tops, and bralettes. I haven't ventured a ton outside of that category, but people love the Fits Everybody collection, so I'm going to give these briefs a try. I love the assorted colors that this pack comes in and that they're high-waisted (which is a must for me). One shopper said they're so "soft and stretchy" that you "don't even really feel them." Nothing is sexier than comfy underwear. Shop now: $60; nordstrom.com Byredo Rose Hand Wash Courtesy Let's get one thing out of the way: I understand that $65 for a bottle of hand soap may sound a little ridiculous. But allegedly, this is the luxe hand wash to own. I've heard nothing but good things about Byredo's Rose Hand Wash; seriously, even when you scroll through the Nordstrom reviews, it's five-star rating after five-star rating. The fragrance blend includes pink peppercorn, raspberry, rose petals, magnolia, and white musk, which shoppers say is "absolutely gorgeous," "sexy and sophisticated," and "lasts a good amount of time on the skin." I mean, talk about the perfect Valentine's Day present. Shop now: $65; nordstrom.com The North Face Cragmont Fleece Coat Courtesy Jennifer Garner wore North Face's Cragmont fleece last month, and I've wanted it ever since. (How does she make something so simple look so good?) I love the color blocking of the light and dark beige, which The North Face calls "bleached sand/hawthorne khaki," and it overall just feels very in right now. I'm getting the longer coat version of it, which has the same colors and trimming but covers your butt. It'll keep me warm without the usual bulk of a winter coat and have me looking way more put-together than usual. Shop now: $179; nordstorm.com Gucci Vernis à Ongles Nail Polish Courtesy I think everybody should own at least one fancy nail polish, and this will finally be mine. (I used to co-own a bottle of Chanel's Rouge Noir with my mom, but she claimed it when I moved out. RIP.) I'm obsessed with Gucci's nail polish packaging, and it seems like people actually like the quality of the product, going as far as saying it "actually smells pleasant." Shop now: $30; nordstrom.com Nécessaire The Body Oil Courtesy Last but not least on my list is Nécessaire's body oil. I love a good body oil, and Nécessaire reigns when it comes to making really good body care basics — I always reach for its body lotion after I've shaved or when my skin is feeling dull. The cold-pressed oil has all the nourishing goodies in it, like omegas 6, 7, and 9 and vitamins C and E. Customers say it isn't greasy, leaves skin soft, and soaks in really quickly. Since it's unscented and has a clean and non-comedogenic formula, I trust that it'll make a great massage oil for my acne-prone back. Shop now: $35; nordstrom.com
