The 35 Most Naked Dresses of All Time

Naked dresses are perhaps the most impressive of all red carpet feats. While they may not always make the best-dressed list, they do require a certain breed of celebrity to pull off. Not only do you have to have the balls to risk a wardrobe malfunction, but you have to do it with enough confidence that you look fierce — not terrified — in the photographs. Take Naomi Campbell's appearance in Valentino's couture show during the spring/summer 2019 presentation. The legendary model gracefully strutted down the runway in a see-through gown with a ruffle skirt. (Click through the gallery for the NSFW photo).  Get the inside scoop on all your favorite celebrities with our FREE daily newsletter, InStyle Celebrity. Breaking news, relationship updates, hairstyle inspo, fashion trends, and more direct to your inbox! Let's not forget Rihanna’s infamous CFDA dress either. The girl rocked a completely sheer dress without a bra — and later remarked that her only regret was not wearing a bedazzled thong to match. That, my friends, is dedication. Then, there was the year 2015, when the Met Gala saw not one nor two but three naked dresses on the red carpet, all worn by Hollywood’s hottest A-listers. Jennifer Lopez, above, bared her famous curves in a custom Atelier Versace illusion gown. Beyoncé was nearly naked in Givenchy. And Kim Kardashian West almost looked modest in comparison in her sheer Roberto Cavalli dress, because no one’s getting naked without KKW joining in. Click through to see the best naked dresses of all time.

But there will be a few tweaks. As seen on Kerry Washington, 2020's bob has textured, softer edges, and looks amazing whether you part it down the middle or off to the side.  RELATED: The 10 Hairstyles You'll See Everywhere This Winter But if you swear that 2020 is going to be the year you finally grow out your hair, let Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian's extra-long lengths be your inspiration. THE GORING HOTEL

Credit: Dan Kitwood/Getty

Princess Kate stayed at The Goring the night before 2011 wedding, but she was just the latest in a long line of royals to visit the London establishment. The Queen Mother was a frequent guest, the Goring's chefs baked Prince Charles's christening cake and Princess Margaret's son, the new Earl of Snowdon, David Linley, headed up the redesign of the dining room. It's even rumored that there's an underground tunnel connecting the hotel to Buckingham Palace.

RICHARD WARD

Kate's hair is almost as iconic as Kate herself. And for much of the time, the man behind the impeccable blowout is Richard Ward, London hairdresser and creator of Kate's signature look, the "Chelsea Blow Dry." His salon is located in Chelsea, Kate's former neighborhood. The good news for those who want Kate's locks? Getting a blowout done by one of Ward's stylists will run you just $32. (Though seeing the man himself for a haircut and blow dry is pricier at $412.)

MAHIKI

Back when Prince William and Princess Kate were regulars on London's club scene, Mahiki was one of their go-to spots. The Mayfair nightclub is tiki-inspired with tropical drinks, and is co-owned by William and Harry pal Guy Pelly. It was famously the spot where Kate flew solo during her brief split from William in 2007.

BELLAMY'S

It isn't often that the Queen has a night out (at 90 years old, who can blame her?) but last March, she stepped out for dinner with her daughter Princess Anne and her cousin Princess Alexandra at Bellamy's, a French brasserie in Mayfair, a short drive from Buckingham Palace.

Bumpkin

A favorite spot for William and Kate post-marriage is Bumpkin, a restaurant where they've hosted a holiday lunch for their staffers in years past. Self-described as a "British brasserie," their menu includes offerings like fish and chips, confit duck leg, and a chicken liver parfait.

ANNOUSHKA

For all the copy-Kates out there, a stop at Annoushka is essential. The Chelsea jeweler makes Kate's favorite pearl drop earrings, as well as several royal-inspired pieces, including these crown rings covered in diamonds.

Another Chelsea shop that's a favorite of Kate's is Blue Almonds, a children's store she visited with her mother, Carole Middleton, back in 2013.

DANS LE NOIR?

William and Kate reportedly dined at this Clerkenwell restaurant, according to its co-founder Edouard de Broglie, which features a pitch-black dining room. De Broglie told the New York Post that the royal couple enjoyed visiting the restaurant because they could dine with complete anonymity.

BLUEBIRD

Another pre-marriage favorite of Kate's is Bluebird, a café and store way down Chelsea's King's Road. The elegant eatery is a spot for al fresco dining and tea.

Trotters

One of Kate's go-to children's shops is Trotters, where she has picked up slippers and sweaters for George and Charlotte. The family of shop owner Sophie Mirman has been selling products to the royals for generations: Her mother made hats for the Queen Mother, the Queen and Princess Margaret, and Princess Diana was a visitor to her business the Sock Shop.

Kensington Palace

Of course, any list of London locales wouldn't be complete with William and Kate's London residence, Kensington Palace. (Harry lives there too!) Famous royals such as Princess Margaret and Princess Diana made it their home, and with William and Kate set to relocate back to London this year, we'll be seeing more of them there, too.
