NBC is going full-on religious with its next live musical.

Although its 2017 musical—Bye Bye Birdie starring Jennifer Lopez—hasn't aired yet, the network has already announced its 2018 live musical ... and it's a far cry from 2016's Hairspray Live!.

NBC revealed Wednesday that it will air the rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" on Easter Sunday of that year, according to the Washington Post, and the musical's creators, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, are on board to co-executive produce the project.

As for who will star in the musical, that hasn't been decided just yet. Casting is already underway, according to NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt, who said, "the goal is to use as many as recording artists as possible to give "proper voice" to the score.

We can't wait to see who lands the coveted roles.
