It's Pride Month, so naturally we are partaking in anything and everything rainbow-themed to celebrate. One such thing we are excited about is a very special menu item featured at MEGU New York during the month of June to honor the LGBTQ community. Created by Chef Frances Tariga (who is also a Top Chef alum), the restaurant has added Rainbow Vegan Hargow Dumplings to the menu, and we can't wait to try them.
Besides the fun color scheme, the best thing about the dumplings is that they're made with all-natural ingredients. The dough is dyed using fresh-pressed, housemade vegetable juices—no sketchy food dyes here! Plus, they're vegan, and are filled with a delicious blend of roasted cauliflower, sweet corn, shiitake, and fresh ginger.
For those who like to get in on the action, the restaurant is also hosting a dumpling-making class coming up on Tuesday, June 20 at 6 p.m. A portion of proceeds raised from the class will go to The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center, a non-profit organization that serves New York's LGBTQ community.
