"It's not cute or cool."

Kim Kardashian-West found herself tangled in another controversy this week after fans accused the 39-year-old of wearing blackface on her latest magazine cover.

On Thursday, Kardashian-West shared a photo of herself on the cover of 7Hollywood magazine wearing a black Thierry Mugler dress while laying back on a white bed. In the comments, fans immediately pointed out that her skin looked darker than usual, so much so that she resembled many famous black woman. "Tell me why i thought this was Diahann Carroll..." one commenter wrote. Another added, "Kim, Kim, this is blackface."

While its possible that magazine retouching is part of the issue in this instance, unfortunately it's not the first time that Kardashian-West was accused of appropriating black culture or even wearing blackface. Upon the launch of her cosmetics line KKW Beauty, fans accused her of darkening her skin in the promotional images. The reality star later apologized for the incident and released a new photo with visibly lighter skin. She and her sisters have also come under fire for wearing traditional black hairstyles that women can still be legally fired for wearing.

It's this repeat behavior that has many of the people in her comments upset. "The thing with Kim Kardashian and her family’s tireless history of cultural appropriation and blackfishing is that she knows better," one fan accused. "They know better. But they continue to do this because they know outrage sells"

PageSix reports that a source close to Kardashian-West says she is denying the claims however, neither she or 7Hollywood have responded to the backlash.
