I'll try products that promise to boost shine and add body, but my hair never looks that good when I do it myself. However, Pureology's new Color Fanatic Top Coat actually makes my fading dark brown hair look vibrant, glossy, and full of volume. This treatment is designed to be used at-home between coloring appointments, once hair starts to get brassy and dull. It comes in a blue option to neutralize orange tones from brunette hair and purple to get the yellowness out of blondes. And if you don't dye your hair or simply want shinier, softer hair, there's a clear option that doesn't tone. The results last for up to eight shampoos, so a couple weeks depending on how often you wash your hair. Think of it like sealing your manicure with a glossy top coat. Next, squeeze the product onto sections of your hair from front to back in a zig zag pattern, and focusing on the mid-lengths to ends (I recommend doing this in the shower). Let the top coat marinate for five minutes, then rinse it out. While it's not necessary, you can follow up with a conditioner or mask. My hair is thick and try, and I skip the conditioning step because my hair is extremely soft without it. Speaking of which, check out my before-and-after shots of using Pureology's Top Coat, below: Courtesy I first experienced the treatment at a Pureology editor event, where a stylist applied it and gave me a blowout and loose waves. My hair stayed soft and shiny for a few days after the product was applied to my hair, and even held up through sweaty workouts and a couple shampoos. Not to mention, it completely cut the orange undertones that started coming through the ends of my cool-toned dark brown hair. I can't stand when my hair gets brassy, but I'm also extremely lazy, so this treatment makes my haircare commercial dreams come true. Good to Go used to be the column where we'd share the beauty products we can't travel without. But while travel's off the table, we'll be focusing on products that make us feel good in quarantine. This month, why I'm obsessed with Pureology's Color Fanatic Top Coat + Tone. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
