For us, it all started with Solange's 'A Seat At The Table' album cover.
There's nothing novel about hair accessories, but we'd be crazy to ignore the resurgence of bedazzled clips and pins over the past year. The accessories that typically hide inside our strands are more prominently used for decoration, motivating us all to flex our creative muscles in the styling department.
For us, it started in September, when Solange Knowles unveiled a series of eccentric looks prior to the release of her critically acclaimed LP, A Seat At The Table.
The album cover became an instant classic, with celebs and fans donning duckbill clips in tribute to the singer-songwriter. In fact, her stoic portrait became so covettable, that even one London's biggest newspapers was accused of stealing the look for a fashion story.
From there, Solo took her hair story from the music to the red carpet, where she continued accessorizing her looks with the baubles we grew up loving--contour clips included!
