Naomi Osaka Has Bright Pink Hair

And it's not a filter.

What do you do after winning the Australia Open? If you're Naomi Osaka, you cap off that victory with a bright-pink dye job. In her latest Instagram post, the newly minted champ showed off new pink hair — and added graphic, matching eyeliner to finish off the look.

"Sakura could never lol," she wrote, referencing a character from the Naruto anime series.

According to People, Usain Bolt dropped into the comments, writing, "U wore it better @naomiosaka lol." And other athletes offered up their opinions, too. Fellow tennis player Kristie Ahn compared the look to Lavagirl, from 2005's The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl.

After her semifinal win at the tournament, Osaka told reporters that she hoped that she'd be able to play her opponent, Serena Williams, "forever." Osaka is now ranked third in the world and won the Australian Open back in 2019, before this year's victory. Off the court, Osaka and her now-pink hair continue to be brand ambassadors for French luxury label Louis Vuitton.

"Aside from tennis, my most treasured passion is fashion; and there is no brand more iconic than Louis Vuitton," Osaka said via statement. "It is such an honor to work with Nicolas [Ghesquière, the Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton's Women's Collections] — he's a designer I admire so much and we share a mutual love of Japanese culture and style. To become global brand ambassador is truly a dream come true for me."
