Honey wheat blonde is the coolest way to go blonde this summer.

After over a year of spread-out color appointments and makeshift root touch-up products, the general consensus for dyeing your hair is to give into whatever color you were fantasizing about during quarantine.

However, if going blonde is in the cards, you should know that the upkeep of bleaching your hair is going to take more effort than simply brushing on some root powder at home. The drastic move is kind of like going from jogging outside in a spacious park to going back to running on a treadmill in a sweaty, crowded gym.

But that's where honey wheat blonde comes in — a more low-key shade that's trending for summer 2021.

While this hair color is an easier transition going back into the salon, it's just as impactful as platinum blonde.

"This shade of blonde emulates the colors of a wheat field on a cool summer day when the wind picks up and it glistens in the sun," says Jenna Perry, celebrity colorist known for creating the coolest blondes at her salon, Jenna Perry Hair Studio in NYC. "It feels fresh for 2021 because it's more blended/diffused with less dimension, and it looks expensive while remaining effortless. It gives you that fresh out-of-the-salon look while remaining naturally whisked."

Ahead, all of the "expensive, but effortless" honey wheat blonde hair inspiration you could possibly need for your next salon appointment.
