Keep in mind that I'm being very bias, but having curly and coily hair is a blessing as far as I'm concerned. The volume, the versatility, the texture(s) — it truly doesn't get any better than that. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to take a break from my curls every once in a while.

So when the time comes to get a blowout, whether I'm doing it on my own or at the salon, I always make sure there's a heat protectant in the mix. Because the last thing I want is to enjoy my newly discovered inches for a week, then hop into the shower for a much needed wash day on Saturday morning, only to find out my curls are looking limp due to heat damage.

One of our favorite heat protectants, the Biolage Styling BlowDry Glotion uses a mix of natural ingredients to replenish moisture while shielding your strands from damage.

Thankfully, there are plenty of heat protectant products to choose from these days, and I'm going to share eight of the best for those of us with natural curls and coils.
