These $15 Straight-Leg Jeans Are So Affordable, I Literally Did a Double-Take
As a '90s-born Millennial, the thought of having to retire my skinny jeans and transgress to a straight-leg style has been harrowing, to say the least. It took me months to muster up enough courage to merely even try on a pair, but when I managed to pull them all the way up, I immediately realized I had been so wrongly resistant. Could I have done the impossible and found the perfect jeans on the very first shot?
The Wild Fable Super High-Rise Straight Jeans offers everything I could ever want from everyday denim: a relaxed, casual fit, waist-cinching above-the-navel rise, rugged frayed hems, and a spandex blend for ample stretch. Their cropped style hits squarely at the ankle — even on my little, petite-length legs — and their vintage-style wash is a just-right medium blue hue that paired nicely with both dressy sweaters and distressed graphic tees.

Now, I'm no stranger to the women's section at Target, but when I saw that these affordable jeans were only $15, I literally did a double-take. Never have I ever seen jeans so inexpensive. They're currently on sale for 30 percent off, but even at their original $22 price tag, the fact these were full price for under $50 completely rattled me to my core. Before I knew it, I'd ordered a second pair, and not long after, a third.
Shoppers, too, "can't believe they're so inexpensive," and with nearly 100 five-star reviews on Target's website, I'm clearly not the only one who's blown away by the pair. "From someone who hates wearing any type of jeans, I LOVE these jeans," wrote one reviewer. "[They're] so comfortable and don't have that thick, cardboard feel other jeans have."
"I will be living in these jeans for the foreseeable future," wrote another customer who called them the "best jeans ever." "They are SO comfortable and stretchy — perfect for WFH. They look trendy and are surprisingly flattering as well… buy these!"
While Wild Fable hasn't permanently replaced my trusted skinnies, my mind is now fully open to the idea of trying on more airy alternatives. The retailer also sent me a pair of Levi's to test (the popular High-Rise Wedgie Straight Cropped Jeans), which at $70, the color Love in the Mist looked and felt identical to my trusty Wild Fable pair — right down to the button-fly closure.
