Who Wore It Better: Lily Collins? Or Lily Collins's Hair?

Welcome to "Who Won Fashion Today," where we award the boldest, best dressed person of the day. Winning fashion doesn't necessarily mean you're wearing the most expensive, trendiest, or prettiest dress. Rather, we reward risk-takers—those that stay true to their personal style and make us go, "Now THAT is a LEWK."

Lily Collins

In the theater biz, a triple threat is someone who sings, dances, and acts. But I think a triple threat is someone who is smart, kind, and a star dresser. And having impeccable eyebrows NEVER hurt anyone. So yeah, Lily Collins? TRIPLE FREAKIN' THREAT. Now, I know I said this week that I’d exclude those at Cannes Film Festival, but it’s proven impossible to do so, so today, Lily, you win fashion.

Collins arrived at the Okja photocall during the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival at Palais des Festivals in a spring 2017 Johanna Ortiz look that I think only she could pull off. The nude nautical one-shouldered dramatic shirt is perfect for a place like Cannes, where fancy yachts are synonymous with good films. The sparkly, sequin skirt added just the right amount of flair to make the look fancy shmancy and red carpet appropriate.

But what set this look on FIRE was her hair—a perfect throwback to what Rooney Mara did with hers at the premiere of Carol at the BFI London Film Festival.

So maybe it’s not just Collins’s look that won, but modern twist on a classic ponytail too.
