Some brides spend days and even months searching for the perfect wedding dress. And don't even get me started on all of the money that goes into designing an over-the-top, one-of-kind gown. So much effort, only to end up wearing the dress for a 30-minute ceremony and then it's history.

As a soon-to-be bride, I'd personally want to spend as much time as possible wearing something so precious. So I'm sticking to one dress for the wedding and the reception. But there are tons of brides who have switched up their entire look for the reception. I'm talking new dress, shoes, and even a quick hairdo change, too.

If you're thinking about making a few changes on your special day (or just love looking at wedding photo), get inspired by our favorite stars below.

We'll never forget Kate Middleton's long sleeve wedding dress, which was designed by Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton. And her equally-as-chic reception dress was just as timeless. Middleton added a sophisticated finish to the sweetheart neckline by layering on an angora bolero.

Serena Williams blew us away in a Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown (equipped with a cape) for her wedding ceremony. And we were left just as stunned when she changed two more times at the reception. First, into a floor-sweeping Versace gown, and then, into a shorter dress and crystal-embellished Nikes.

At Kim Kardashian's wedding, she showed off her curves in a custom, mermaid Givenchy dress with a to-die-for train. For her ritzy reception it was only fitting that she changed into a plunging mini Balmain dress covered in pearls.
