How We Think L.A. Will Influence the Next Tommy x Gigi Collection

In a surprising move, designer Tommy Hilfiger has made the decision to uproot his show, which has forever held a spot in the New York Fashion Week lineup, and move it out west for the Tommy x Gigi spring 2017 show in February (it will also mark the second time the brand will allow its consumers to buy the pieces fresh off the runway in its "TommyNow" see-now-buy-now initiative).

The ocean-side show will take place at Venice Beach in Los Angeles and we can already tell it's going to be huge (there's an estimate of 3,000 guests that will attend). We mean, this is the man who staged, incredibly, a full-on TH-branded carnival in September, complete with a Ferris wheel, arcade games, (faux) tattoo stations, and carnival food kiosks. Past seasons included makeshift ski lodges, football fields, and a Caribbean-inspired beach.

"The casual, cool, chic look that is leading the fashion world this season was born and bred in L.A., and I knew this show would feel at home on Venice Beach," Hilfiger said in a press release. "The spring '17 collections were designed with a clear West Coast spirit, and Gigi and I have loved fusing elements of her California lifestyle and a music festival atmosphere into the second Tommy x Gigi collection."

Hear that? We haven't seen any of the spring looks but there are clues: It's going to be Coachella-friendly, it will be very "L.A.," and there will most likely be a surfer girl twist. Seeing as how Hilfiger takes his fashion literally (see: last season's nautical-inspired lineup), we gathered what we know, including our intel on Hadid's L.A. girl style, and compiled a list of what we think the collection will look like.

Perhaps faded TH crop tops with bandanas and teeny denim cut-offs?

This time around, maybe a little less Caribbean-y (this was from Hilfiger's spring 2016 collection), and maybe more surfer-y with slick rashguards, neoprene, and sexy cut-outs.
