Lady Gaga Hit the Campaign Trail in Sky-High Platform Boots
The higher the boots, the higher the polls?
Leave it to Lady Gaga to take campaign footwear to new heights. After Kamala Harris's go-to Converse sneakers and her Timberland boots made headlines, not to mention Dr. Jill Biden's VOTE-emblazoned Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee stunners, Gaga slipped into a casual pair of over-the-top platform stiletto boots to campaign alongside Joe Biden in Pennsylvania today.
Though the rest of her outfit seemed almost demure — a tailored black suit, bow blouse, and crystal-embellished VOTE face mask — the shoes were signature Gaga, blending elements of camp, stripper, and pop star to remind everyone that she's Lady Gaga. The in-person event comes on the heels of Gaga's new voting PSA, which showcased some of her most memorable outfits, meat dress included.
"Let's be real, you know who I voted for," she says in the clip. "But believe me and listen to me now. Even if you disagree with me, your vote still matters to the world."
During an event of his own, President Trump slammed Biden and Gaga, though he seemed to mispronounce "Lady Gaga," saying something akin to "Laydee Gah-Gah" instead.
"He's got Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga, I could tell you plenty of stories. I could tell you stories about Lady Gaga, I know a lot of stories," Trump said during an event in Avoca, near Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Last night, the Trump campaign released a press release that attacked Biden for enlisting Gaga, a known "anti-fracking activist." Communications Director Tim Murtaugh also called her part of "the liberal Hollywood elite." Gaga responded, writing, "HEY TIM HEY @realDonaldTrump SO HAPPY IM GLAD TO BE LIVING RENT FREE in your HEAD. #BidenHarris." She embellished the post with "Heeeey Donald … #WINNING (also, what is a fracking?) keep your jobs PA ..."
Though he seemed to have only negative things to say about Gaga, Twitter account Lady Gaga Stan uncovered a tweet and photos of him and first lady Melania Trump attending a Gaga concert at Madison Square Garden. He even tweeted about what a great time he had.
