In 2014, two hotties named Johannes and Chris founded Koio, a sneaker company aimed to create a shoe that would “accompany them on any question and adapt to any situation.” As a shoe obsessive myself, I can tell you this must have been no easy feat. A gym sneaker is not an office-appropriate sneaker is not a date appropriate sneaker…or could it be? Koio proves one sneaker can do it all. Their shoes, handcrafted in the heart of Italy are equally perfect for a long walk in the park and a night out. Trust us, we’ve worn them. Even cooler? The brand is always trying to do more. “The Collective” is a segment of their business that enables them to team up with super cool influencers (like JonBoy) to collaborate on special edition shoes. Their most recent launch, today, with American Ballet Theater principal dancer James Whiteside.

"I wanted the shoe to reference a classic ballet shoe, that’s why I chose satin,” Whiteside tells InStyle.com. "Since it’s being released in December, we wanted a winter-friendly color. The deep, wine red color is a perfect, holiday dress-it-up or dress-it-down tone. My scratch tattoo can be found embroidered on the outside of every shoe. A good sneaker can be the very definition of comfort, luxury, and style. KOIO has definitely nailed it.”The sneakers, a reinterpretation on the brand’s classic Capri style, are available online today for men and women, for $298, and will make you feel equal parts street chic and ballet beautiful.
