Everyone's Favorite Sustainable Sneaker Brand Launches a New Style
When Silicon Valley-based startup Allbirds debuted its first pair of all-wool sneakers last year, the fashion world spun into a collective tizzy. Odorless, moisture-wicking, and, at $95 a pop, somewhat affordable, the shoes were lauded for their comfort and buttery softness. Within weeks, the Wool Runner could be seen on everyone in San Francisco, and eventually, the rest of the country followed suit.
Now, the e-commerce brand is expanding its trademark offering with a new style—the Wool Lounger—which looks like a cross between a slip-on and a smoking slipper. "I think of it as the perfect vehicle for our superfine merino wool," co-founder Tim Brown recently told InStyle. "Just like the Wool Runner isn't meant for running, neither is the Wool Lounger for lounging. Make sure to take the slipper-like comfort outside, see, do, and explore."
