Each time we see a photo of Princess Diana, we can't help but fawn over her impeccable style. Whether she was stepping out in long socks, oversized collars, or peplum skirts, the royal pulled off any trend with style and grace. In 2018, Australian designer Jayson Brunsdon shed a bit of light on why Diana no longer incorporated the fashion house's logo into any of her outfits. He told Harper's Bazaar U.K. that back in 1996, he had suggested she complete her look with a classic pair of Chanel shoes, but received a surprising response.

"I said, ‘Well these would look great with the Versace. And she said, ‘No, I can't wear linked C’s, the double C.’” Apparently, the double C was now a reminder of Charles and Camilla, who had been the prince's mistress.

We understand where Diana was coming from, and it's very possible that the press would have made the same association at some point. Still, she didn't stop wearing the brand completely. Diana sneakily wore suits and pieces that didn't include the logo, and one of her most iconic Chanel looks actually came after her divorce.
