In the wake of her legally single designation, Kim Kardashian has been taking to the streets, and Instagram, to document a style metamorphosis. Her latest post packed a punch — there was the (not so soft) reveal of her rumored boyfriend Pete Davidson, and more strikingly, there was an all-silver, disco ball-like outfit.

In the Instagram post, Kardashian is wearing a silver tinsel jacket, a pair of oversized black sunglasses, and the piece de resistance — thigh-high metallic silver boots. Her statement boots are a dazzling, reflective take on a trend that has been championed by the likes of other fashionable women: Rihanna is no stranger to thigh-high boots, while Amal Clooney, Katie Holmes, and Kate Middleton have all worn similar (albeit lower) knee-high versions.

As spring approaches, utilitarian boot season comes to an end and thigh-high boot season kicks into high gear — celebrities and the streetwear savvy alike are beginning to trade in their tights and pants for the bold shoe style.

The specific (currently unidentified) boots worn by Kim K. in her Davidson reveal are almost holographic silver and so high as to constitute basically being pants — not to mention, they probably have a price tag we can only assume is akin to a month's rent.
