The summer after my senior year of high school, I had the pleasure of visiting one of my best friends, a former exchange student, at her home in Brazil. Between tours of cultural landmarks and Desperate Housewives marathons, we spent hours at the mall, where she introduced me to her favorite local brand, Farm Rio. By the end of the trip, I’d fallen so in love with its vibrant clothes that I nearly used up my savings to buy the pieces I’d been obsessing over.
Farm Rio would eventually launch an online store in the U.S. — and today, its American presence is growing by the minute. The brand’s tropical-inspired designs have recently received the approval of celebrities like Kelly Ripa, Kerry Washington, and Brie Larson. Right now, the exact Farm dresses they’ve worn are all majorly marked down.
Back in September, Ripa donned Farm’s toucan-print wrap dress on Live with Kelly and Ryan, showing off its delicate embroidery on Instagram. She may be sitting on a toilet in the video, but the dress’s gathered sleeves and ruffled hem still manage to look incredibly elegant. Originally sold for $285, the dress is currently available for $114.
