Fashion Katie Holmes Can't Stop Wearing These Loafers From Nordstrom, and Now I Can't Either I have been influenced, and I don't regret a thing. Getty Images No one expected Katie Holmes to become a style star back in the summer of 2019, but over a year later, we're still here inspecting all of the outfits she wears from head-to-toe. We frequently cover Holmes's looks — after all, everyone seems to love them. The Katie closet fandom makes sense, as her wardrobe strikes a delicate balance between being both aspirational and accessible, and sometimes both at once. The recent It item Holmes can't stop wearing fits into the latter category, and costs just $130 at Nordstrom. Courtesy Shop now: $130; nordstrom.com Holmes has been spotted on multiple occasions in a pair of Vagabond loafers, the celeb-loved brand that's basically an open celebrity secret. Vagabond makes enviable footwear you don't have to be envious of: Nearly every boot, loafer, and shoe they make available for under $200. When I saw Holmes wearing a pair of $130 Vagabond Kenova loafers with a $90 Mango coat, I could already feel myself being influenced. But it was her second sighting in a pair of Vagabond Cosmo loafers with a lug sole that really convinced me I needed to invest in a pair. When I first wrote about it for InStyle's Look of the Day series, I was convinced they were the Gucci lug sole ones everyone is obsessed with that cost nearly $1,000. When I found out they were actually the Cosmo by Vagabond and just cost $160, I gasped so loudly, my boyfriend asked if I was OK. I bought them instantly and have to say, it's my best purchase of the year— and by a long shot. Courtesy Shop now: $160; nordstrom.com For one, lug sole loafers are extremely hot right now, but they're still a classic shoe. In other words, they're not just a trend, but a shoe that will stand the test of time. I live exclusively in platforms, or shoes with a bit of heel, and these lug sole loafers give me that height I am obsessed with without sacrificing comfort. I'm also the type of person who will wear shoes even if they make me uncomfortable or give me blisters (what I believe some people call a sadist), but these shoes didn't even require time to break them in. They fit me perfectly the instant I put them on, and are extremely comfortable day in and day out. Suddenly, I understand why Holmes has been wearing hers everywhere non-stop for the last two months. Chances are, if you happen to run into me, I'll be wearing these shoes. I wear them to the bodega, to outdoor dine, to walk my dog in the morning. So far I have worn them with sweatpants and corsets and big fluffy sweaters — and sometimes, all at the same time. These loafers make everything work. Which means not only should you get yourself a pair before they sell out.
