Photo: Getty Images The brain space I have dedicated to the emerald green suit Jessica Alba wore to the bell-ringing ceremony of The Honest Company going public last month is admittedly excessive. But after a year of monochromatic sweatsuits and understimulating celebrity style inspiration, it feels so good to see the return of the original power suit (and an outfit worth envying). Alba, for one, has hit the ground running with post-quarantine style. Aside from the Nasdaq look I've pinned to my mental vision board, she's also been pointing us in the direction of some surprisingly attainable shoes by wearing these platform sneakers on repeat. Right now, you can get the same exact ones for $120 at Nordstrom. Since at least April, Alba has been reaching for the Vagabond Shoemakers Judy Platform Sneakers to pull together outfits ranging from similar monochromatic suiting to a more recent patriotic skirt/sweater combo on her way to her company's office in Los Angeles. Shop now: $120; nordstrom.com Maybe it's the simple white leather or the extra height the platform lends to the silhouette, but there's something about these sneakers that encourages one to do a double take. The best part? Her footwear of choice proves that we don't have to let go of the comfort we've come so accustomed to during the last year in pursuit of really good outfits. In fact, the right sneaker can make anything look better. The Comfortable $60 Sneaker You Wore in the Early 2000s Is Back, According to Supermodels and Celebs Vagabond has a significant presence in the shoe collections of A-listers like Emma Roberts, Gigi Hadid, Sophie Turner, and Katie Holmes, but it's still relatively hush as far as celebrity-loved affordable brands go. If I had to guess, that won't be the case for long. Perhaps it's time we let go of the luxury celeb-endorsed sneaker to embrace one under $150, because let's face it: Sneakers are meant to be lived in. (Unless buying them pre-distressed and coupled with a $500 price tag is more your thing. No judgment here.) Though we may not all be taking a billion dollar ethical household company public anytime soon, that doesn't mean we can't take a note from Alba's post-pandemic fashion sense and add a pair of versatile platform sneakers to our rotations ASAP.
