Hilary Duff Just Wore the Perfect High-Waisted Black Jeans You Can Get on Amazon
If you don’t already have this staple in your closet, consider this a sign.
Back in the heyday of glittery butterfly clips and those mystifying scrunchie tops, I wanted nothing more than to have access to Lizzie McGuire’s entire wardrobe. I would spend my post-elementary school afternoons playing an online game where you could dress up the characters, and I even had a jean jacket with Lizzie’s cartoon alter ego embroidered on the back. Needless to say, I was a Lizzie McGuire stan.
As fate would have it, I now find myself just as inspired by Hilary Duff’s IRL style choices as I was by her on-screen persona 18 years ago. Between her penchant for leopard-print booties and Hollywood’s favorite comfy sneakers, Duff consistently steps out wearing pieces I either already own or have been eyeing for weeks. So when the Younger star recently traded in her go-to Levi’s 501 jeans for another celeb-loved brand — J Brand’s Jules High Rise Straight Jeans — I, naturally, did a double-take.
Completing the recipe for a casual LA getup if ever there was one, Duff teamed an assortment of delicate layered gold jewelry, Karen Walker sunglasses, and a chic black tee with the jeans. Her choice of chestnut-hued boots further accentuated the frayed hem and distressed finish of her J Brand jeans, which you can conveniently shop for yourself on Amazon.
It comes as no surprise that the actress chose to wear J Brand jeans; they’re a longtime favorite among Hollywood’s finest, with fans including Kate Middleton and Jennifer Lopez. And as someone who has long been invested in the on- and off-screen sartorial choices of Duff as both Lizzie and herself, I can’t help but notice that the Jules High Rise Straight Jeans have a very similar fit and distressed detailing as the Levi’s she wears on repeat.
So if there's one thing we can take away from Duff’s latest denim choice, it’s that if it isn’t broken, you should buy a similar style in as many colors as possible. Or something like that.
