Launching today, the new collaboration for Cruise 2020 is full of printed one-pieces and bikinis, which will no doubt stand out on the beach or by the pool. "I've always been really drawn to animal print, but more this season than ever," designer, model, and fashion influencer GabiFresh, AKA Gabi Gregg, tells InStyle via email. "So, I decided to make that the theme of this collection. I love classic leopard but wanted to expand on that by also designing cheetah, croc, and snakeskin suits." "From there, I wanted to add punches of color that really popped against the animal prints, finishing with details like oversized hardware and faux leather trim to make each suit special," she continues. Courtesy The campaign shows off a desert, road-trip-like setting, and stars Gregg herself, alongside Veronica Pome’e, the first Polynesian swimsuit model to pose in Sports Illustrated, and the late Mama Cax, a model and activist, who passed away late last year after battling cancer. "I feel eternally grateful that I got to work with [Mama Cax]," Gregg says. "She was so inspiring to me before we met, and even more so after. She was such a positive energy on set, and I am so, so glad that I got to share that day with her. I hope that these campaign images, like all of her other work, inspire women worldwide." Courtesy Ahead, more images from the campaign, plus Gregg's swimwear styling tricks. Courtesy A theme of this campaign is fearlessness. What does fearlessness mean to you? I think so many of us are stuck in fear and making fear-based decisions every day. I have to challenge myself to actively work against that, and try instead to live each day with confidence and faith. To me, fearlessness means confronting your doubts head-on and moving forward even when — or especially when — you're afraid. How do these particular women in this campaign inspire you? Both Mama Cax and Veronica have walked in their purpose and broken barriers with their careers. I am excited and inspired by women who are confident in their bodies and reject social norms about what defines our beauty or value. Why There’s No Such Thing As a Swimsuit You “Can’t” Wear Courtesy Do you have any “rules” or preferences when it comes to swimwear? Honestly, no! I am staunchly anti-fashion-rules. Wear what makes you feel best in your body! How would you style these swimsuits in order to take them from the water to a restaurant or event? I am such a caftan girl that I love throwing on a flowy one over any suit and heading to dinner! I also think any of these bikini tops would look great with flowy pants and sandals, especially the tie-front white top — it easily reads as an everyday crop top! Courtesy You can shop the eight-piece GabiFresh x SFA collection — which is available in size 10 to 26, with cup sizes ranging from D/DD to G/H — on swimsuitsforall.com starting today.
