Every Shade of Purple Is Trending for Fall 2022
While Fashion Week and runway shows get the reputation for showcasing new must-try trends, we also see it as a reminder to wear what we already own. For example, at the moment, we're searching out closets for all items that include the color purple, since it seems to be a popular one for fall 2022.
We first took notice of the purple craze during New York Fashion Week, where the color — in a variety of different shades, from light to dark, blue-tinted or kinda-pink — appeared in designs from PatBO, Coach, Prabal Gurung, and more. But when it continued to be a favorite at London, Milan, and Paris shows? We realized it was having a major moment — even though, of course, purple isn't exclusive to the autumn season.
This color has always been a great one for spring, especially if you're a fan of pastels. Plus, as many begin that transition from cold, snowy days to warmer weather, purple can be a fun, somewhat unexpected choice when it comes to outerwear and light layers.
We also can't forget to mention how versatile purple can be, especially if you're a fan of colorblocking. Aside from pairing it with pink, blue, yellow, and even orange, adding green to to the mix will create an eye-catching combo that's currently beloved by street style stars.
Celebrities also seem to be on board with the rise of purple, including designer and style icon Victoria Beckham, who consistently incorporates it into her outfits.
We're rounding up proof that purple is Fall 2022's "It" color, ahead, but if you're feeling impatient like us, go ahead and use these runway looks as tomorrow's outfit inspiration.
