It goes without saying that this year has impacted our style in some pretty major ways.

Day to day, we tend to live in comfy-cozy pieces, and with time to reflect on our shopping habits, we've become passionate about sustainable, seasonless fashion. We're also adamant about never leaving our houses without wearing a mask, and have even starting coordinating them with all of our outfits, aka the most 2020 fashion move of them all.

Sure, it's an extra step and might seem strange at first — safety is obviously our number one priority, not making a fashion statement — but celebrities and influencers have convinced us it to give it a try. Jennifer Lopez often coordinates her masks with her tie-dye sweatsuit, and brands such as Onzie and Lele Sadoughi have created designs to specifically match clothing and accessories. So it's no longer shocking to scroll through Instagram and spot a mask that purposely adds a pop of print or color to a look, or to see a dress-mask set being advertised in our email.

If you've found your own collection has grown throughout the pandemic (perhaps you invested in a set from BaubleBar or Tory Burch) and you have been looking to take your mask style to the next level, we've found a few outfit ideas worth trying out to match.

Sticking With a Similar Color

If you have a pink mask, wear a pink top. Or, if you want to wear yellow, go with something in the same color family. It doesn't have to be a perfect match — color blocking is cute, too!

Adding a Little Pop

If your look is somewhat simple, a fun pattern or vibrant shade can add a little something extra.

Wearing a Full Set

Yes, these exist! While this design is from O Pioneers, Onzie has masks to match your leggings, and Good American makes masks to match your jeans and dresses.

Matching Just One Item

You don't have to go all out. Simple plaid and gingham options will look great with a pair of plaid pants, and leopard prints will help your leopard skirt stand out a bit more.

Coordinating With Other Accessories

We're already big fans of Lele Sadoughi headbands, but the brand also sells mask in the same colors and prints.

Expertly Mixing Prints

You'd be surprised how many other patterns pair well with animal print or polka-dot masks. Just keep color and scale in mind when mixing, and you'll nail this fun, bold look.

Staying On Theme

If your outfit focuses on pink and green, try a mask that features one or both of those colors, helping to create a sleek, seamless look.

Highlighting Small Details

Stripes, stars, sparkles — if you own a lot of pieces that contain these details, it's not a bad idea to invest in a mask with a similar appearance (such as these sequined options).

Keeping It Neutral

Of course, you can't go wrong with a basic black or white mask, which will pair well with most outfits.
