Take a Look at Malia Obama's Incredible Style Evolution
The First Daughter has literally grown up before our eyes since she entered public life in 2008 when her father, Barack Obama, first ran for president, and we've been lucky enough to watch her style transform over the years from sweet to sophisticated. After graduating from Sidwell Friends School in June, she's planning to take a gap year and then attend Harvard University in fall of 2017. She's not the first in her family to study at the Boston Ivy League: That's the university where both her parents earned law degrees.
"When I first elected to this office, Malia was just 10 and Sasha was 7. And they grow up too fast," the President told Ellen DeGeneres. "Malia's more than ready to leave. But I'm not ready for her to leave," said POTUS. "She's one of my best friends. And it's going to be hard for me not to have her around all the time. But she's ready to go. You can tell. She's just a really smart, capable person and she's ready to make her own way."
