Blake Lively’s Latest Movie Character Is the Grown-Up Version of Serena van der Woodsen
If Serena van der Woodsen grew up to be a fashion publicist, she would be Emily Nelson, the always put together character that Blake Lively plays in her new film, A Simple Favor. Both are stylish, manipulative, mysterious, and love an alcoholic beverage. The film also stars Anna Kendrick as Stephanie Smothers, an enthusiastic mommy blogger who agrees to do Nelson a simple favor (hence the title).
Nelson seemingly has "it all" in the film: the career, the family, and, most importantly, the wardrobe. (Viewers find out later that her life definitely isn't as perfect as those outfits might suggest.) Most scenes feature Blake in some sort of polished suit, as dressed by costume designer Renée Ehrlich Kalfus. But all of her looks are definitely worth copying.
