Fashion Clothing I'm a Fashion Editor Searching for the Perfect Pair of Wedding PJs — and I Just Found 12 Cute Options Considering this look will live on in photos for years to come, I'm arguing it's almost as important as the gown (or at least the bridal shower outfit). Olivia Von Halle/InStyle While I'm only receiving one paycheck at the moment, I swear I currently have two jobs: Senior Fashion Editor for InStyle and planning my upcoming wedding. At first, I was a surprisingly chill bride (marrying the love of my life and the wedding gown were my top priorities), until recently when I suddenly felt the need to nail down every detail — including finding the perfect pair of wedding pajamas, aka my Getting Ready look. Sure, it sounds like such a small, not-so-important part of the whole checklist, but this look will live on in my wedding photos for years to come, so it has to be cute, full of personality, and feel fancier than my typical sweats. In my opinion, wedding pajamas are just as important as what I'll wear for my rehearsal dinner or bridal shower — which, to fashion-loving me, is very important. Needless to say, I'm not a simple floral robe kind of gal, so I won't be settling for just anything. But luckily (unlike booking shuttles and renting chairs for the ceremony!) i's also a fun one to complete that has brought me joy in the midst of chaos. Honestly, Sandra Oh's Critics' Choice Awards Dress Would Make the Perfect Wedding Gown The good news is, there are plenty of great bridal pajamas options out there — I've managed to find 12 different pairs I'd be more than happy with. I'm not one to gatekeep though, so I'm sharing my recommendations, ahead, along with why I love them. Nadine Merabi Darcie White Pajamas Courtesy Buy on Nadinemerabi.com This brand is one of my favorites when it comes to bridal ensembles. I already have my eye on a sexy, sparkly jumpsuit for a future wedding-related event, and have visions of myself in this $200 feathered set as I sip champagne in the makeup chair. Price at time of publish: $200 David's Bridal Colorful Embroidered Bride Sweatshirt Courtesy Buy on David's Bridal I saw this $35 David's Bridal sweatshirt at a preview months ago and have honestly thought about it since. I'm a sucker for a good novelty item and really enjoy the colorful, '90s-inspired embroidery. Plus, you can for your bridesmaids, too, so you can all match. Price at time of publish: $35 Sleeper Stardust Lurex Lounge Suit with Pants in White Courtesy Buy on Farfetch.com Buy on The-sleeper.com Admittedly, I already own multiple pairs of PJs from Sleeper, so I know this $270 option will fit right in with my collection after the day is done. The flared sleeves and bell-bottom pants are so playful and remind me of Mamma Mia, which means they're pretty perfect for excitedly dancing and snacking while getting glam. Price at time of publish: $270 Changuan Sexy Illusion Long Lingerie Robe Nightgown Courtesy Buy on Amazon Buy on Walmart I have a very similar robe in pink, so imagine my surprise when I was scrolling through social media only to spot someone (who, of course, I went to college with and haven't spoken to in years) wearing a white version on her wedding day. It was a true lightbulb moment; not only is this $109 Amazon must-have elegant and statement-making, it's easy to remove so you won't mess up your hair. Price at time of publish: $109 Hill House Home The Ellie Nap Dress Courtesy Buy on Hillhousehome.com Hill House Home's Bridgerton-like designs sell out in seconds, and for good reason: they're comfortable and easy to wear — both in terms of styling and the actual act of pulling them on (so stretchy!). I'm kind of shocked that this $125 ruffled, Swiss dot Ellie dress is still available in every size from XXS to 2XL (at least for the time being), but I'll consider that a sign to add to cart and not ask any questions. Price at time of publish: $125 Fleur du Mal Lily Slip Dress Courtesy Buy on Bloomingdales Buy on Fleurdumal.com Buy on Saks Fifth Avenue If you're looking for more of a dress than literal pajamas, Fleur du Mal's slip option might just be the one for you. I can already imagine wearing this silky design — which features embroidered, underwire cups (for a bit of support) — on both my wedding day and to brunch weeks later, possibly styled with a bomber jacket and knee-high boots. Price at time of publish: $495 RELATED: How to Style a Slip Dress, According to Celebrity Stylists Birdy Grey Jonny Pajama Set Courtesy Buy on Birdygrey.com While I'm skipping the whole matching bridesmaid gown thing, I still love the thought of everyone wearing coordinating PJs as we get ready in the morning (plus, they make a great Thank You gift). The only problem? It's frustratingly hard to find options above a size XL (WTF?!). Birdy Grey sells white sets that are perfect for brides, but also has a full section of Getting Ready Outfits that go up to 3X. You can even personalize this $39 pick for just $6, which makes it easy to say "yes!" Price at time of publish: $39 BHLDN Showstopper Cover Up Courtesy Buy on Amazon Buy on Nordstrom Buy on Walmart Those spotted tulle sleeves are what initially caught my eye while browsing BHLDN's bridal offerings — they're whimsical enough to suit my personal style, while also being elevated and classic (I probably won't regret this choice years down the road). Technically, this $88 pick is meant to be worn over your swimsuit — meaning you can break it out for the Honeymoon, too — but I know it'll give any old tank top and shorts combo a bridal-friendly boost. Price at time of publish: $88 Lulus Miss to Mrs White Embroidered Satin Two-Piece Pajama Set Courtesy Buy on Lulus Although I initially thought that novelty wedding items were cheesy, the second I got engaged, I felt an urge to buy all the "Bride" and "Mrs." gear. I want to celebrate this moment in my life, and just like how I wear Christmas pajamas in June and coffee-printed T-shirts to bed, I'm not above rocking this $58 set long after I say "I do." Price at time of publish: $58 Olivia von Halle Casablanca Casablanca Cream Silk Crêpe de Chine Pajama Set Courtesy Buy on Net-a-Porter Buy on Oliviavonhalle.com It's true: $685 is a lot of money to spend on wedding pajamas. But, we have to think about versatility here. Even the model is wearing this cream colored set with boots in the photo, and I could easily see myself wearing the top as a classic button-down, styling it with everything from jeans to sequined fringe skirts. Price at time of publish: $600 RELATED: These Four Wardrobe Staples Mysteriously Look Great On Everyone Morgan Lane Maebelle Tank in Chalk Courtesy Buy on Nordstrom Buy on Morgan-lane.com Buy on Neiman Marcus Out of six bridesmaids, I've performed on stage with four of them. So when I say this adorable, bow-embellished, $110 tank top (which would, of course, be worn with the matching shorts) is giving me 'girl in a musical excitedly getting ready for a date' vibes, I mean that as a very good thing. Price at time of publish: $110 RELATED: Yeah, Everything Really Does Have a Bow On It Now SKIMS Boyfriend Long Sleeve T-Shirt Courtesy Buy on Nordstrom Buy on Skims.com Some brides prefer being cozy above all else on their wedding day (which, as a Taurus, may just be me, too). In my opinion, this oversized T-shirt, paired with coordinating SKIMS Boyfriend Boxers, would be a nice mix of looking bridal while feeling comfortable, all without sacrificing celeb-approved style. I'm also always looking for a good reason to buy things that are already in my cart, and considering all the great reviews I've read on SKIMS, I'm happy to use my wedding day as an excuse.
