Blake Lively Is Bringing Back Charm Necklaces

A summer filled with statement jewelry is officially underway in Hollywood. The season is only just getting started, but it's clear that celebrities are gravitating towards all things bold and colorful, especially when it comes to their accessories. Blake Lively is the latest to embrace the look, putting her statement-making spin on charm necklaces.

Enjoying a "mom&dad girl summer" with husband Ryan Reynolds, Lively combined multiple jewelry trends for an evening out. Along with layering her necklaces, the actress wore a vintage-inspired charm necklace, which featured plenty of color and lots of sparkle.

Lively's charm necklace came from Storrow Jewelry. The custom creation looked to feature multiple charms from the jeweler, including some pearl-encrusted pieces. She wore the charms, which individually retail for upwards of $800, on a gold necklace base.

Wearing the necklace with a white top and a New York Yankees baseball cap, Lively showcased the true versatility of the charm necklace. From taking in a baseball game to posing indoors, this necklace style is ready for anything. And lucky for those ready to recreate the look, there are plenty of charming options that cost a lot less.

It does appear that Hollywood is jumping back on the charm necklace trend, and while the inclusion of charms remain up to you, the accessory can be a way of sending a powerful, personal statement. You could take a styling cue from Lively and go with lots of color and jewels, or create a customized necklace like Priyanka Chopra, and adorn your neck in important mementos.

The best part about this Lively-approved look is that you truly can't overdo it on the sparkle. Her necklace came with multiple charms, covering nearly every inch of her neck, and beneath the necklace she layered even more jewelry. She kept all of her necklaces in the same hue of gold, but each piece came with its own unique flair.

Whether you wish to stack on the charms or wear a few select and special pieces, there are multiple ways of wearing a charm necklace. You can start with a chunky gold chain made especially for a DIY moment, or pick up a ready-made option that brings together the charms and the base.
