Photo: Getty Images I'm never short on comfy sneakers, but if there's a particular style or an under-the-radar brand that celebrities can't stop wearing, it's hard for me to resist adding one more pair to my collection. That's exactly the case with Avre, an Asian-American women-owned brand founded by sisters Julie and Connie Kuo that upcycles water bottles into supportive kicks. The brand's ultra-comfy sneakers have become go-tos this spring, and I have Olivia Munn to thank for the recommendation. Whether it's leaving the gym (on multiple occasions) or coming from a hair appointment, Munn's regularly been wearing Avre since at least October of last year, specifically the Life Force and Infinity Glide styles. Aubrey Plaza, Lucy Hale, and Nina Dobrev have been spotted in Avre, too: Dobrev matched Munn in the White and Black Infinity Glides, Hale sported the same shoes in black, and Plaza wore the Quick Surge sneakers in black — which are almost sold out. Getty Images Clearly, Avre is Hollywood's best-kept secret, and it's not hard to see why. I wear the Life Force sneakers whenever I head outdoors for a quick walk or a coffee with friends these days, and they practically guarantee compliments wherever I go. Courtesy Shop Now: $145; avrelife.com I have fallen arches and plantar fasciitis, which makes it really difficult to be on my feet all day, but Avre's shoes are so comfortable and supportive that I racked up 20,000 steps in one day with no soreness. They're also super breathable, even when New York City spring weather suddenly swings from a breezy 65 degrees to a humid 85. These Forgotten $45 Sneakers From the '90s Are Making a Major Comeback in Hollywood Even better, the shoes are sustainably made with recycled water bottles. The process includes shredding plastic bottles into tiny flakes that are then melted and reformulated into yarn. The brand's green efforts allow them to emit 30 percent less greenhouse gases into the air than if it made sneakers traditionally, as well as cut its water use by 20 percent. Plus, Avre's sneakers are machine-washable, making cleaning a no-brainer. Shop Avre's celeb-approved shoes below before they're fully sold out.
