Hollywood's Cool-Girl Activewear Brand Quietly Launched a Sweatshirt Bra I'll Be Wearing All Spring
Ever since I tried Hailey Bieber's super soft Alo Yoga leggings, the brand has caught my attention. Its high-quality, comfy, and stylish activewear and athleisure stands on its own, but it also helps that the brand has cool-girl approval from models like Kendall Jenner and Kaia Gerber, who wear it regularly, and even Jennifer Garner, AKA the cool mom of the cool-girls club (as I like to call her). Recently, Alo Yoga quietly launched a sweatshirt bra — yes, you read that right, a sweatshirt bra — which sounds like the epitome of a cool-girl thing to own. So, obviously, I bought it.
Made with cozy French terry fabric, the Scoop-Neck Sweatshirt Bra has a racerback design and ruched chest band that looks like a cuffed hem on sweatpants. (I've accidentally called it my "sweatpants bra," which is still accurate.) It has light support that works best for lounging or wearing out casually, and is available in eight colors, including limited edition options like rusty brown and emerald green.
I can acknowledge that the $58 price tag isn't the most affordable for a lounge bra, but I think it's worth it if you plan to wear it as a bra top, which I'll definitely be doing. Since the sweatshirt material is thick, the Alo Yoga bra works as a shirt — pair it with high-waisted leggings or jeans and a blazer or oversized button-down, and you're good to go. If there's anything celebs like Katie Holmes, Sydney Sweeney, and Lily James have taught us, it's that a bra is a shirt, just like leggings are pants. (Period.) The brand also has a few bundles available where you can purchase the bra with a matching sweatshirt skirt (!), sweatpants, or sweat shorts.
While I wait for spring to grace us, I've been wearing the Alo Yoga bra around the house, both on its own and under a t-shirt, and I've been loving it. It's not incredibly stretchy, so the first time I put it on it felt like it may be a bit tight due to the chest band, but after wearing it for a few hours, I realized it was just a matter of getting adjusted to it. I consider it pretty true to size, but if you can size up if you want a looser fit. I also think it's super flattering; it shows off a nice bit of cleavage. I have it in the rust color which is really pretty, and I'm definitely going to grab it in the emerald green before it's gone — I just have an inkling that one is bound to sell out.
If I were you, I'd grab one before everybody else finds out about Alo Yoga's secret cool-girl bra.
