However, it's her latest project that might just be the most important. For the second time around, the Grammy Award-winning artist has collaborated with sunglasses brand Quay, and on top of multiple pairs of statement-making shades, the collection includes a face mask that says "Vote." Courtesy According to a press release, the item (and safety precaution!) is part of a larger company initiative, bringing awareness to "the barriers that disproportionately impact communities of color in the U.S." It's something that Lizzo, too, is passionate about, and on top of modeling the mask, she spoke about the importance of the topic via a statement. "Voting is a big way to contribute and to feel like we're making a change," she said. "But the power of voting in midterm and local elections wasn't something I was taught in school. I want to be part of informing future generations of our power. Representation is important to me. It helps people feel seen. It celebrates diversity. The American people deserve to feel seen and we deserve a government that reflects our beautiful diverse country and ideals." What You Need to Know About Kamala Harris, the Nominee for Vice President Courtesy It's more than just a message. Quay and Lizzo have also teamed up with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF), as well as the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, and the company will be donating $100K toward the mission. Courtesy As for the sunglasses in this drop, Lizzo, of course, showed them off with a full, glamorous shoot conceptualized by Quinn Wilson, her longtime friend and creative director. Paired with voluminous clothing, the colorful and shiny designs look so luxe, it's hard to believe that none of the pieces (including the blue-light glasses) top $125. And, should you be looking for a pair to start with, Lizzo does have a favorite pick. "I know I've taken a lot of pics in the Icy," she said via Quay. "But, I wear Transcend every day. I got a pair in the purse and a pair by the pool." You can shop Lizzo x Quay now at quayaustralia.com.
