While we’re sure you spent the weekend catching up on Melania’s side eye-worthy outfits and Trump’s equally absurd fashion faux pas, you might have missed some style intelligence that’s actually useful. Last Thursday, minimalist hitmaker Everlane quietly released a brand new shoe called The Boss Bootie.

The Boss Bootie is the latest in its ‘Boss’ line, which also includes The Boss Mule ($140; everlane.com), The Boss Flat ($165; everlane.com), and The Boss Boot ($225; everlane.com) — which Everlane also released in extended color options last week. It’s a sleek, ankle-height cropped boot with a sharp, pointed toe, and it’s available in pebbled black and pebbled white.

If this is a dare to bare ankle, consider us game. The abbreviated style pairs perfectly with a wide range of bottoms, from skinny jeans to wide-leg crops, and it even looks cute and cozy over a pair of exposed cotton socks in the cooler months.

The Italian leather-bound bootie sits upon a 1.5-inch heel, and fits true to size. Clocking in at $215 a pair, we consider this style a top choice investment for the closed-toe season ahead of us.

The style’s predecessor, The Boss Boot, also got a minor makeover, and is now available in five colors and materials — pebbled black, burgundy, dark taupe, patent black, and patent bone.
