As an up-and-coming actress in her native Spain, Cruz (and her Roman Holiday fringe) drew comparisons to Audrey Hepburn.
Stylist Mark Townsend has used Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom to give Cruz's hair "that great second-day look." On the third day? There's always a face-framing hat.
The All the Pretty Horses actress attended the 72nd Annual Academy Awards wearing minimal makeup and a classic chignon.
"This was the first time I did a drastic cut on her," Townsend said of the Vanilla Sky lead's bob. "She was ready to change her look."

"She looks extra chic with red lips," makeup artist Rachel Goodwin said of the Sahara beauty. "She has the confidence to match too."
For the Golden Globes, the Volver lead worked a high-volume '60s-inspired style.
At the Academy Awards, the nominee made her face the focus with dramatically arched brows and rosy cheeks and lips.
The Vicky Christina Barcelona actress went with loose locks. She has "heavy, blunt hair," said stylist Andy Lecompte. "Even when it's super-straight, it still has bounce."
Back to bangs, the Nine beauty rocked a retro updo. Says Goodwin, "She has an ease that's very feminine."
Cruz arrived at the Screen Actors Guild Awards with a deep side part and honey brown highlights.
The Oscar nominee flaunted cat-eye liner and pale lipstick. "She often plays up her eyes and keeps her lips neutral," says Goodwin. "It depends on her mood."
Back to fringe! The new mom sported splayful bangs at Cannes.
For the Oscars, Cruz sported a retro set hair courtesy of hairstylist Andy LeCompte, and pitch-perfect makeup to match, courtesy of Matthew VanLeeuwen. Using Lancome products, VanLeeuwen created a modern take on '20s glamour with lush eye makeup, a warm complexion, and muted nude lips.

Cruz sported her signature long locks with some short, side-swept bangs for a premiere in Madrid.
