Miley Cyrus's Changing Looks
Thirteen-year-old Cyrus scored the wig-out role of a lifetime as bubbly blonde Hannah Montana.
"I change it up so much," the lipstick-loving Hannah Montana star said of her beauty style. "My grandma and my mom have used the same makeup their whole lives. I'll never be able to do that."
Where did Cyrus get inspiration for change-ups like her glossy peach lips? Magazines. "I'll look at a page and try to do my makeup like it's shown."
The Breakout singer got edgy with dark locks. "She wanted to get away from the idea of the Hollywood blonde," hairstylist David Medelye said. "We call it the Anti-Hannah."
She may have worn a grownup Valentino dress, but the teenager showed her age at the Academy Awards with a low ponytail.
For this year's Golden Globes, Miss Cyrus wore her hair in long, soft waves.
She filmed roles in Sex and the City 2 and The Last Song.
For the Oscars, Cyrus wore her auburn locks in a bouffant bun and added equally sophisticated smoky shadow.
Cyrus said goodbye to her role on Hannah Montana-and her character's infamous wig. "At first I was like, 'I'm gonna burn it!'" she told People. "It itches so bad. But now I want to keep it, so if I'm, like, 30 and want to pretend I'm Hannah Montana again, I can."
Dramatic champagne highlights punctuated Miley Cyrus's amber waves. "I am loving bold variation in tones right now," colorist Jason Backe says. "A really striking ribbon of a creamy blond, next to a medium golden blond lowlight, running through a soft base is major."
Cyrus had a very specific inspiration for her post-Oscars look: "I have just always loved pinup girls. I think it's the most fabulous time," she told InStyle. "And I've been wanting to do a pinup look, especially now that I have my hair short."
Cyrus had hairstylist Chris McMillan give her an edgy shaved-side crop. "Never felt more me in my whole life," she tweeted of the cut. She styled it into a wild pompadour for the MTV Video Music Awards.
Cyrus went even shorter the following year, keeping the sides cropped close and shearing the top into a more classic crop. To keep it current, she let her natural roots shine through.
For the 2013 MTV Movie Awards, Cyrus stepped out of the box, styling her hair in two mini top knots. She finished off the look with a bold red lip.
For a pre-Grammys party, the 21-year-old chose side-swept bangs and a matte pink lip.
The performer adds graphic eye makeup to complete her edgy look.
Cyrus contrasted her natural beauty look with a giant blonde ponytail of twisted braids and dreadlocks at the Los Angeles LGBT Center's Vanguard Awards.
This past year has been a slam dunk for Cyrus—she reignited the flame with fiancé Liam Hemsworth, scored a spot as a judge on The Voice, and let her famous platinum crop gain a few inches.
