The Charleston, West Virginia high school student ignored beauty don'ts. "I wasn't allowed to wear makeup, so I would sit in homeroom and put on eye shadow," she has said. "[The compact] had four colors in it, but I used only the blue."
"The producers on the TV show Time of Your Life said Jennifer Love Hewitt and I looked too much alike, so they made my hair red and cut it," she told InStyle of this look.
The on-screen Daredevil wore a sleek pompadour that belied her fallback 'do: "all-one-length hair that you don't mess with." She has said that her everyday remedy is to "put it in a ponytail or a French braid and go."
Jennifer went red to play the title character in comic book-based action movie Elektra.

"I never go nuts with my look," Garner told InStyle. "It's easy to feel like you've gone into caricature territory when you do. I've found that if you feel like a goose, you're going to look like one."
"The technology is nothing," Garner said of maintaining her sleek Golden Globes style on a rainy afternoon. "Talk to the hairstylists. It was an Aqua Net kind of day!"
She sported smoky pewter shadow to the Arthur premiere.
For the premiere of The Odd Life of Timothy Green, Garner opted for a loose updo.
For the L.A. premiere of Argo, Garner paired smoldering winged lids with flushed cheeks. "All the emphasis was in the eyes," her makeup artist Monika Blunder told InStyle.com. "I wanted to give her a '60s vibe, while keeping her very natural and soft."
