'The Crown' May Have Found Its New Prince Charles

The actor in "final talks" to secure the role for seasons 5 and 6 may surprise you.

As though we weren’t excited enough about season 4 of The Crown (which is dropping on a Netflix account near you Nov. 15), there’s even more drama in the heir — er, air.

According to “sources” Netflix is in final talks to secure a new Prince Charles for seasons 5 and 6. And the actor in question is ... Dominic West?

The final two seasons of the series take place between the early ‘90s and the early 2000s, detailing the Prince of Wales’s affair with Camila Parker-Bowles (which already receives quite the spotlight in season 4) and his divorce from Princess Diana.

The man “in talks” to take the baton from predecessor Josh O’Connor is no stranger to affair drama himself, having starred in Showtime’s adultery-laden series The Affair (and also some other reasons).

Though casting decisions for seasons 5 and 6 are still trickling in, several members of the new Crown class have already been announced, including Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, and Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip.
