Earlier this month, Teyana Taylor shared the news that she was expecting her second child with husband Iman Shumpert — and now, she's revealing that her daughter will be delivered by Erykah Badu (casual).

In an interview with Nick Cannon on his podcast, Taylor said that Badu, who is a doula and midwife in addition to being a singer, songwriter, producer, and actor, will be delivering her next baby.

"I'm considering home birth, and I'm actually going to be doing it with Erykah," she told Cannon. "Her and Iman are going to deliver my baby. I'm super excited. I'ma have her just sing her verse from 'Lowkey' to me to calm my nerves."

Taylor and Badu recently collaborated on Taylor's new record The Album for the song "Lowkey."

Badu has previously said that she discovered her passion for midwifery in 2001, while helping a friend through a natural birth: "I've always had a mothering nature. But I didn't plan on becoming a doula. I just wanted to care for my family and friends. When I saw the baby, I cried. I knew what I was supposed to do with my life."

In an interview with InStyle a few months ago, Badu said she has helped deliver around 35 babies, adding that one of the babies was coaxed out only after she gave the mother a special brew of tea, banged on a gong, and played hard-core hip-hop. By that measure, Taylor's proposal to have Badu sing during the delivery sounds like the right idea.
