David and Victoria Beckham Had an Intimate Vow Renewal Ceremony

Seventeen years later, and they're going stronger than ever.

In a recent interview on BBC 4's Desert Island Discs program, David Beckham spilled personal details about his relationship with wife Victoria Beckham, even revealing that they secretly renewed their vows. He also explained that they "know each other better than anyone" and can work through just about anything together. At least we know this is one couple that won't be breaking up anytime soon!

So what about this vow renewal? Their wedding back in 1999 may have been a lavish affair, but the Beckhams decided to keep things private when they restated their vows.

"We did throw a lot at [our first wedding]," the 41-year-old soccer player and model told the radio station. "We have renewed our vows since then and it was a lot more private—there was about six people there in our house."

Later in the interview, Beckham admitted that he and his wife, who have four children together, have faced trying times, but they can always talk though their issues: "Of course you make mistakes over the years, and we all know marriage is difficult at times, but it's about working through it."

His best relationship advice? Always communicate. "Whenever we've come up against tough times, we know each other better than anyone knows us, so we talk," he said.
