Rihanna Is Here to Remind Us That There Are Still Votes to Count
Nothing but respect for the admiral of the Rihanna Navy.
With even FiveThirtyEight's nonstop updates slowing down, everyone — both sides of the aisle, pundits, and general public, everyone — might just need a reminder that things are moving along the way they're supposed to. Rihanna, the reigning queen of chill, reminded everyone on Twitter, blessing feeds everywhere with a gentle reminder, writing, "Count Every Vote We'll Wait," punctuated with clapping emoji.
Nate Silver and Co. over at FiveThirtyEight reiterated Rih's call for patience. The team let readers know that several states, such as Arizona and Georgia (CNN reports that a final count will come in tonight), are still working hard to get every ballot counted. Final counts could come in today and they could even come in tomorrow. The final word, however, was clear: every vote will be counted.
"We're taking a bit of a pause on the live blog until we get more results from Arizona and Georgia — expected around 9 p.m. ET and potentially — in Arizona, anyway — again at 12:30 a.m. ET."
As for Pennsylvania, which is getting a major share of the spotlight, Silver says it's still too early to call — and not to expect a final answer anytime soon. There is some hope for Democrats, however.
"There are too many outstanding ballots for us to be in the endgame where we can game out exact scenarios," FiveThirtyEight reports. "But in counties that have completed reporting, Biden looks to be hitting the targets he needs."
