R9 is a beacon of hope in the pandemic.

Rihanna is setting out to dominate every single headline possible. Not only is she giving everyone more sex, spice, and savagery with the Savage x Fenty Show Vol. 2 tomorrow, she gave fans an update on new music. While things huge donations for domestic violence survivorshealthcare workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic, and mental health initiatives have been occupying her to-do lists lately, she finally confirmed that there's new music on the way.

"I want to go on tour but I can't, so I'm stuck with music that I love, and now I'm trying to figure out how I can even create visuals to that," she told the Associated Press. "That's a challenge as well. But I love challenges, so, you know, I'm gonna get it done."

As for the details of her to-be-named ninth studio album (fans are simply referring to it as R9), Rihanna had mentioned that her new album would be a blend of reggae and pop in the past, but she expanded on that. She told the AP that right now, she's more concerned with just putting out music that makes her happy.

"You do pop, you did this genre, you do that, you do radio, but now it's just like, what makes me happy?” she added. "I just want to have fun with music. Everything is so heavy. The world that we live in is a lot. It's overwhelming every single day. And with the music, I'm using that as my outlet."

While her loyal Navy has been waiting for new tunes, they've had to find other ways to connect to RiRi, like slathering on her Fenty Skincare, slip into Fenty x Savage lingerie, and hoping these tiny tidbits lead to a full-on release soon.
