Priyanka Chopra Becomes a UNICEF Global Ambassador with Help from David Beckham
Priyanka Chopra has a lot of titles—movie star, Baywatch babe, and InStyle’s Breakthrough Style Star—but her latest just might be her fave. The Indian actress became the newest UNICEF Global Goodwill Ambassador at a star-studded 70th anniversary event on Monday night at N.Y.C.’s United Nations headquarters.
“My involvement with UNICEF began almost 10 years ago in India. Today, I stand here humbled, enriched, and committed because of it,” Chopra said. “Along this decade-old journey with UNICEF, I have been on many field trips to villages and centers across India. On those trips, I spent time with numerous young girls and their families and experienced firsthand the transformative power of empowering young girls with opportunities that are rightfully theirs.”
“Together, with my fellow dedicated ambassadors, I am now proud to stand with UNICEF to help build a world where children’s rights are respected and protected,” she added.

The Quantico star was presented the award by fellow ambassador David Beckham and Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, who co-hosted the “Children’s Takeover” event, highlighting young ones who have benefited from UNICEF’s efforts. “Always delighted to meet likeminded people who believe that there is humanity left in us after all,” Chopra captioned this sweet Instagram.
