George, Charlotte, and Louis Celebrate U.K. Mother's Day with Homemade Cards for "Granny" Princess Diana
Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis are honoring their late grandmother, Princess Diana, on Mother's Day in the U.K. this year. In celebration of the holiday, the Cambridge kids crafted homemade cards for "granny Diana" with sweet messages inside.
"Dear Granny Diana, Happy Happy Mother's Day. I love you very much and think of you always," George wrote alongside his illustration of an idyllic landscape with the sun shining over the mountains and birds flying in the sky. He continued, "Sending lots of love from George xxxxx."
Charlotte shared a similar sentiment below a colorful heart. "Dear Granny Diana, I am thinking of you on Mother's Day. I love you very much," she wrote, adding: "Papa is missing you. Lots of love Charlotte." While Louis wasn't able to write a message, he did paint a heart and included animal stickers in his card.
In the caption of the post, Will and Kate acknowledge that Mother's Day will look a little different this year due to the ongoing pandemic — especially for those who have lost family members. "Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again," the couple wrote. "But for those experiencing bereavement, today may be particularly challenging."
Sharing their own tradition for keeping Diana's memory alive, Kate and Will revealed, "Each year on Mother's Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William."
"Whatever your circumstances, we are thinking of you this Mother's Day," they concluded.
